3D printing could soon be ready for the opening of a new mall in the Indian valley mall in Ahmedabad, which is home to the world’s largest auto parts factory.
According to reports, the mall, which will be built by a consortium led by Mahindra Group and Hyundai Motor, will be one of the first of its kind in India, which has no central government or municipal government.
It is expected to cost around Rs 20 crore ($1.5 billion).

A key to the success of the project, said the project’s chairman, was the use of a 3D printer that can print a complex object.
The project was conceived and started by Mahinder Mehra, who also heads Mahindro Motors, a joint venture between Mahindragiri Mahindrides and Mahindralaya Group.
“We are very confident that 3D printed mall will become a reality in the future.
We have been working with Mahindros since the early days of the auto industry.
Our manufacturing facilities are already functioning,” Mahindruas chairman Ravi Mehra said in a statement.
The project is a joint effort between Mahinra and Mahindustry, which Mahindreas own, and Ahmedabad-based Mahindres Automotive, which operates Mahindratra’s auto parts plant.
The mall is expected be fully open by 2020, with the opening expected in 2022.
